Kolofana, Island of Amorgos | Κολοφάνα, Αμοργός
Born and raised in Chios, Stratis Vogiatzis is an anthropologist, writer, filmmaker and visual artist. His work is closely related to the post-human or post anthropocentric discourse, and at the heart of his practice lies poly-vocality and collaborative modes of working. He is the founder of the Caravan Project, an interdisciplinary collective that mediates on diverse forms of knowledge production, human and non-human, engaging in collaborative projects that emphasize agency and encounter, transformability, listening and making space. Works of his are in museums and private collections, he has published five books and has directed several independent documentaries and films that have received awards at international film festivals.
Ανθρωπολόγος, σκηνοθέτης, συγγραφέας και εικαστικός και το έργο του περιστρέφεται γύρω από ζητήματα ταυτότητας, διασπορισμού και συνόρων κυρίως μεταξύ ανθρώπινου και μη ανθρώπινου κόσμου. Είναι ο ιδρυτής του Caravan Project, μιας διεπιστημονικής κολεκτίβας που πραγματεύεται ποικίλες μορφές παραγωγής γνώσης μέσα από καλλιτεχνικές- ερευνητικές δράσεις και οπτικοακουστικές παραγωγές που δίνουν έμφαση στις συμβιώσεις, τη διαθεματικότητα και τον μέτα-ανθρωποκεντρικό λόγο. Έχει λάβει μέρος σε ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και έργα του ανήκουν σε μουσεία και ιδιωτικές συλλογές. Έχει σκηνοθετήσει αρκετά ανεξάρτητα ντοκιμαντέρ τα οποία έχουν διακριθεί και βραβευτεί σε διεθνή και εγχώρια φεστιβάλ. Έχουν εκδοθεί πέντε βιβλία με το έργο του.
He will be showing the documentaries Blind Fisherman and Paporias, which explore the lives of a blind fisherman and of a traditional boatbuilder from Chios. Connected through a shared thread of tradition, memories of place, and their determination to continue despite adversity, both men remain devoted to the sea, travelling its waters and listening to its whispers. Together, the two films reveal a profound relationship between people, place, and the element of water, offering a testament to lived knowledge, resilience, and the invisible bonds that connect human lives with the sea, the landscape, and the memories carried from one generation to the next.
Παρουσιάζει:
Προβολή των ντοκιμαντέρ «Τυφλός Ψαράς» και «Παπόριας», με θέμα τη ζωή ενός τυφλού ψαρά και ενός καραβομαραγκού από τη Χίο. Με κοινό συνδετικό νήμα την παράδοση, τις μνήμες του τόπου και την επιμονή τους, παρά τις αντιξοότητες, να συνεχίζουν να ταξιδεύουν στη θάλασσα και να αφουγκράζονται τους ψιθύρους της, οι δύο ταινίες φωτίζουν μια βαθιά σχέση ανάμεσα στον άνθρωπο, τον τόπο και το υδάτινο στοιχείο. Αποτελούν μια μαρτυρία για τη βιωμένη γνώση, την αντοχή και τους αόρατους δεσμούς που συνδέουν τους ανθρώπους με τη θάλασσα, το τοπίο και τις μνήμες που μεταφέρονται από γενιά σε γενιά.
